Cleantech Bulgaria is a local antenna organisation of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH)
The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) is an initiative supported by the European Commission that aims to eradicate energy poverty and accelerate a just energy transition across Europe. Within this framework, starting in 2025, Cleantech Bulgaria (CTBG) acts as a local antenna organisation of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) , contributing expertise, outreach, and capacity building at national and regional level.
The initiative addresses the still low awareness of energy poverty in Bulgaria and strengthens the ability of local authorities, communities, and stakeholders to respond effectively. Activities include the organisation of national and international events, targeted webinars, and capacity-building workshops to raise public awareness and develop participants’ skills. CTBG provides technical assistance to communities, supports data collection and knowledge development on energy poverty, and contributes to the Covenant of Mayors’ efforts to integrate energy poverty as a core pillar of local climate and energy action.
Project activities
Development of the initiative and take forward project promotion, dissemination and impact maximization
Capacity building and technical assistance (TA) to the communities affected by energy poverty
Provision of technical support for Covenant of Mayors (CoMO) to further develop the pillar on energy poverty
Knowledge development and data collection on energy poverty
Provision of Ad hoc support and expertise to Commission Services for policy analysis and policy formulation
