Project No. BG16RFPR002-1.014-0015 “Centre of Competence Clean Technologies for Sustainable Environment – Water, Waste, Energy for Circular Economy” (Clean&Circle) is implemented under the Programme for Research, Innovation and Digitalisation for Smart Transformation (PRIDST). The project builds upon the established national research infrastructure from the previous phase, aiming to maintain, expand and effectively utilise scientific capacity in the field of clean technologies and the circular economy.
Clean&Circle develops advanced scientific solutions and technological innovations for sustainable water, sludge and solid waste management, resource recovery, biotechnologies, and high-efficiency monitoring and treatment methods. The project brings together leading research institutions to establish an integrated platform for applied science, technology transfer and innovation support for industry, public authorities, and society.
Cleantech Bulgaria is a partner and leads the technological entrepreneurship activities through the Technology Entrepreneurship Accelerator (TEA), delivering structured acceleration programmes, mentoring, and market-readiness support for scientific teams with commercialisation potential. The project strengthens the national research and innovation ecosystem and supports the transition towards a sustainable and resource-efficient economy.
Project activities
Development, modernisation and maintenance of research infrastructure across the modules “Water”, “Waste” and “Circular Economy”
Implementation of applied research programmes for developing new clean technologies, biotechnologies and sustainable materials
Conducting analyses, experimental work, testing activities and technological demonstrations
Operation of the Technology Entrepreneurship Accelerator (TEA) supporting scientific teams at TRL 3-7 through acceleration programmes, mentoring and market validation
Training, knowledge transfer, technology transfer and commercialisation support
Project management, coordination, dissemination of results and stakeholder engagement
