DigiHeritage (Fostering the Next Generation of Digital Cultural Heritage Managers through AI, Blockchain and Innovative Pedagogies) is a project of European significance that addresses the growing need for highly qualified specialists in the field of digital cultural heritage management. The project creates a new professional profile – DigiHeritage Manager – which combines expertise in cultural heritage with advanced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, 3D scanning, and AR/VR solutions.
Through the development of an 8-module innovative curriculum aligned with the European approach to micro-credentials, the creation of an AI-assisted collaborative platform, and the implementation of the blockchain-based HeritageChain tool, the project fosters sustainable and digital innovation in heritage sector.
Project activities
Development of a new qualification profile “Digital Cultural Heritage Manager” through an educational 8-module curriculum, including the issuance of micro-credentials.
Development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform (DigiHeritage) to enhance the transfer of knowledge and skills among partners and stakeholders, as well as to collect, manage, and monitor data from the digitization of cultural heritage.
Development of a Blockchain-based tool (HeritageChain) to improve reliability and provenance in the digitization of cultural heritage objects.
Organization of an intensive 3-day camp for trainers and practitioners in the field of skills for cultural heritage.
Pilot training in seven countries, with a practical focus integrating AI, Blockchain, and multimedia with issuance of micro-credentials.
Dissemination and exploitation activities to ensure the project’s sustainability.
Expected results
A new professional profile created – DigiHeritage Manager.
An 8-module educational program developed and adapted, which can be integrated into the curricula of higher education institutions and vocational education and training centers.
An operational Artificial Intelligence-based digital platform (DigiHeritage) established – a central hub for sharing and data management
A HeritageChain tool created, based on blockchain technology, for validating the provenance of cultural heritage exhibits, managing intellectual property rights, and related functions.
An international educational camp conducted for coordination and sharing of skills and knowledge prior to the pilot trainings
Seven national ecosystems established to enhance digital skills through pilot trainings in each country, involving 120 participants.
A European approach applied for issuing internationally recognized micro-credentials in the field of cultural heritage
Local and regional networks established as key channels for disseminating project results to improve the skills of stakeholders – museums, archives, cultural institutions, tech SMEs, public authorities, and others.
Enhanced capacity of higher education institutions and vocational education and training centers for the digital transformation of cultural heritage, as well as strengthened capacity of cultural institutions.
